Ford servicing - rough cost

We've had our new Fiesta for 10 months now and it is coming up to it's first service of 12,500 miles.

Does anyone know roughly how much I can expect the first service to be?

It will be going into a dealership but I don't want to get ripped off. I had a Clio from new before and it only needed servicing every two years (without any major issues up until ten years old).

I'm loathed to spend masses on it as I don't see there can be much wrong with it at under a year old!

Also, it is worth ringing round a few dealerships to compare prices? We're Herts/Cambs border so within driveable distance of several dealers.

Thanks very much

You really dont need to take cars to dealerships now to get them serviced.

As long as 'Ford' parts are used and any bona fide garage will know this, you can take it anywhere you want and it doesnt invalidate your warranty.

Afraid of being ripped off - stay away from dealerships.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

If you want the peace of mind of a main dealer then yes - compare them. The dealer you bought it from may well be in touch to remind you and try and get the business but don't assume they are a better deal.

Get an idea of standard price here
I need to think of something new here...

1st service at a Ford dealer about £150 - I have a new model KA on the 1st service it had a recall out on it - if I'd gone to an independent it would not have been seen to.
  • The 1st service (12,500 miles) from a Ford dealer will be £175.
(assuming that it is a standard charge at all Ford dealerships)

    Great, thanks everyone.

Was hoping it would be under £200. Will try and get an online deal too!

    .

You do if you want top dollar when you come to resell it.

Ford dealers are quite competitive on servicing. They're £2 cheaper than my local garage which doesn't service to the Ford standard nor uses Ford parts.

What nobody has pointed out is if you get your car serviced at a ford dealer you get FREE 12 months/12,500 mile PAN EUROPEAN roadside breakdown assistance. Mine also offers the next service at the current prices.

Also if there are any software updates or recall notices, these will not get done at a non-dealer.
