Why do you want to improve your credit rating if you don't actually want a credit card? You might as well just spend money from your current account for "luxury" purchases.0

Oh and just in case you don't know, if you use the credit card for purchases and pay off the balance each month it won't cost you anything. There's no interest charges if you pay off in full. Plus you get added protection for buying online etc.
I use my credit cards for almost everything. If you're disciplined and don't just spend the money in your current account then they are better that using debit cards.0 -
