Beware theft on board a flight is unattended baggage!

'Place bags under the seat in front of you' Familiar airline words! However during a night flight my bag had goods taken whilst there! InsuranceDirect underwritten by White Horse are refusing to pay out stating I left the bag unattended in a public place! Oh yes I will fight the case, but buyers beware! I feel cheated and so very angry. Sorry i Im not a contortionist to kerp my eye on it!!! :eek:Most of the ins firms are surely not worth the paper they are printed on? (

White Horse are one of the worst Travel Insurers (Google them).

Send them a letter marked "Official Complaint" confirming the bag was "Within your control" make it clear you will then go onto the Ombudsman.

Is it not covered by your Home Insurance

Well obviously from the seat in front and I guess reaching underneath. I am under no illusion that it cannot have been attempted from in front of me. It is though very difficult to accuse people. I do have the full support of both the Police and Airlines.
'Dacouch' has really confirmed everything, thank-you Dacouch, White Horse..............never again! They certainly need investigating.:(

It's not odd at all for things to move on an aircraft (in fact they warn you of it when opening overhead lockers).
Also bags can easily be moved with feet either intentionally or unintentionally.

Many Thanks for your reply. Yes I have replied to them giving eight weeks in which to reply to my satisfaction. If not the Ombudsman will intervene:j

I will check my home insurance.
