Tuesday 7th August - What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today??!!
determined_new_ms
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:
Morning everyone  thanks for all the well wishes yesterday!
Perni your photos are lovely! You looked beautiful, I love your dress and you both make a very good looking couple
Things for today:
think that's my lot! Have a great day - hope the sun comes out here today! x

Morning All
Thanks for starting us of DNMS Hope you are feeling better today.
My list for today:
Check banking - update spreadsheet
Washing on, dry naturally as it's raining (again!)
Work from home - meals from stores. Chicken stock defrosting for risotto tonight.
Squeeze some Olympics in whilst working
Re-list some items on fleabay that finished last night and didn't sell. Try and list at least 5 new ones.
Take some clothes to recycling bank and charity shop (if DH can carry them to car for me)
Go to doctors (park for free) as have horrible pain in left shoulder which is not getting any better:(
Think about opening a new CC so DH can transfer his work CC to 0% to save some money.
Think that's about all - have a good day everyone

Oh my goodness, Pernie, your pictures are just stunning! You look like a little woodland sprite in that dress, its just gorgeous

Look at you, baking up a storm DNMS!
AWFUL weekend here. Our house got robbed (by the guard, typical) and they cleared us out - took all of OH's clothes, the refrigerator and all the food inside, my work computer, an external hard drive, lots of solar components, my fancy pantsy camera, etc etc. It should all be covered by insurance but its a massive pain, and who knows how long it will take for them to sort! At least no one was hurt, so it could be worse.
Took yesterday off to sort all the police and security company shouting, back at the office today.
- fridgeless (:() breakfast of peanut butter on bread and banana
- chat with lady for consulting gig - will try to eek another day or two of work out of it
- lunch provided by work
- make some quick pasta sauce for dinner, had a lovely big vat of sauce at home before it got nicked
- file rent receipts
- follow up with security company
- bike everywhere I need to go
- go look at fridges to get an idea of cost, as we'll need to replace that before the insurance comes through
- check banking, my personal budget was on the computer that was taken so I'll have to go back and build a better spaceship on that
- go look at houses with broker this eve
Hugs to everyone.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

ntby I'm so sorry to hear that you're in such a rotten situation at the moment. Love to you...
Perni, I love your photos - you look absolutely beautiful and so happy. I'm even more excited about my big day now (only 3 and a bit weeks).
I'm off for a beauty treatment today! I've never, ever had one, but as I've lost 2 stone I'm treating myself to a body wrap - see if I can sneak off an extra inch here and there.
Hoping for a better day than I had yesterday - I have ds off nursery with an eye infection and he's already very bored and misbehaving. The poor cat is getting it.
Anyway, just a small list for me today.
[STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE] and pay nursery (will do that at the end of the week)
[STRIKE]Enjoy 2 hours to myself having a body wrap[/STRIKE]:p Use groupon voucher to take the kids out later (farm or playcentre) ds too ill for this today
lsd (yesterday was a disaster - I had to take ds to the eye infirmary, which included car parking, food and drink as we waited so long, plus my getting flashed by a speed camera on the way home).
[STRIKE]Washing is already done and out on the line before the rain arrives.[/STRIKE]
Encourage OH to get up and do something... he's been back at work just over a week but the depression seems to be setting in again. Epic fail
Wedding related tasks
Flylady (my kitchen is disgusting).(ongoing)
Have a lovely day all

Good morning. It is a lovely sunny day here today and I have a busy morning as need to take the kids to the dentist.
DNMS – Thanks for starting us off today.
My list for today:- [STRIKE]Quick shower[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Sort out the washing – hang out the washing that was done yesterday and put the next load in the machine with fingers crossed that it stays nice and that can also get hung outside[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Take kids to the dentist and avoid the temptation of the shops[/STRIKE]
- Phone Ar*os regarding the voucher that I never got
- [STRIKE]All meals from stores[/STRIKE] Not quite decided to take the kids to the beach this afternoon and got a take away pizza
- [STRIKE]Work on web reviews[/STRIKE]
- SP and SB
- [STRIKE]Surveys[/STRIKE]
- Clean the living room and do a bit of decluttering
- Contact D*LA regarding paperwork for the car as I think it has gone missing in the post
- [STRIKE]Have a NSD[/STRIKE] Didn't manage this today but didn't spend too much
- [STRIKE]Work on course work, as I need to get 2 assessments done next week and still got lots to cover[/STRIKE]

Hello there :hello:
NTBY - I'm so sorry to hear that. Big hugs. :grouphug:
Perni - going to check out these photos…
Here's me:
Starting challenge: 'A bin bag a day keeps the clutter at bay' - bag for CS & bin bag for bin (yay! Two bags today.)
Printed something off at work
Posting something I sold :T - one less piece of clutter
Asked friend if we could stay in rather than go for dinner out when I visit her - she was fine/happy about it/happy to cook and told me not to bring anything as she's got loads in. Ahh, bless.
Decided to get 1.5h bus home from friend's wedding then £12 taxi rather than £68 hotel :T
Got more mystery shops to do :T - £8.500 -
Thanks for starting us off DNMS, beautiful photos Perni - you looked gorgeous! And NTBY - how awful, hope you get it all sorted quickly
at least no one was hurt.
Been away for a few days trying to catch up on OU, paper submitted last night (2 hours 40 minutes before the deadline, closest I've got for a while!) so back into MSE ways now!
Today I will/have:
Check banks
Check CCs
Check TCB
Check Ebay - add best offer onto a few BINs
Keep an eye on Argos Clearance for any house-y bargains
Keep an eye on boss's emails to see if any reference-y type things from from new letting agent
NSD (unless any house-y bargains)
Food from stores
Car sharing to work - I'm driving so drive economically
Think that's it for the day - seems a shorter list than usual, sure I've forgotten something!
Have a great day all

Perni just seen the photos how gorgeous.
La e - I'm with you today with two bin bags, three bags for a paper and card recycling and two bags for charity shop (my excuse is I'm moving as well as decluttering) and I'm going to town today so can't go with an empty car...... So I'll join you when I can :-)

It is the wifes birthday on Monday next week and we have already discussed no presents being bought because we are 110% on paying debt right now.
However I check Marketforce (mystery shopping company I work for) daily and this morning Frankie and Bennys comes up, meal for two all paid for as reimbursement!
Brilliant!0
