Can anyone satisfy my requirements.
I'm looking for a car for my 23 year old daughter, for the past five years she's been driving a Y reg Clio, which is about to die.
I have a budget of about three grand and obviously want something as new as possible. She only does a low mileage, so I presume she wants petrol rather than diesel. She needs a low insurance group and good mpg.
She's loved her Clio and it's cost her little, but she found the back is too small for transporting her two dogs, a Springer and a Lab.
Has anyone any ideas, apart from having the dogs put down?
Cheers
Adey.

Lower insurance group is not always cheaper.
A group 16 car can be cheaper to insure than a group 10 car. Depends how your insurer rate that vehicle.
If every customer with a group car car or lower make claims then they will load the premiums for those cars.
I have a mondeo, Which can average 50+ MPG, Plenty of small cars will struggle doing that.
But a small car will do better on my heavy traffic commutes. But the average will probably balance out, For me anyway.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Look at estates with dogs.
or if no need for 4 seats small vans.
Why is she not saving up for her own cars?
The dogs probably cost more than the car
Whats wrong with the clio?0 -

I did look at vans about 2 years ago but the insurance, because of her age, was astronomical?
As for her saving for her own car, athough it's really none of your business, she has to work six days a week doing three jobs on minium wage, she lives with a friend and has to pay rent and hallf all the bills, with what she's got left it would take a decade to save for a car.
Whilst she was living at home I took a third of her income for lodgings and unbeknown to her put some of this aside for her for this eventuality; this will effectively be paying for the replacement car.
I know nothing about cars, but regarding her Clio, she has professional mechanic friends who have kept it going for her but they've now deemed it's coming to the end of the road.
Are there any small jeep type vehicles, I'm not on about 4 wheel drives? In memory of Chris Hyde #8670 -
