Charter house claims

Hi all

After much pestering from charter house to complete their form to claim for PPI I completed it and sent it off. They contacted me a few weeks later and said they needed more information to which I said I didn't have. Now they have sent me invoice after invoice and now a final notice to the value of £120!

There website says no win no fee so is it within there rights to now invoice me? The final notice says if I don't pay they will send the case to a collection agency.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Check the terms of the legally binding contract you have signed with them. If you didn't sign up to "no win, no fee" then you may have to pay up
Precisely what information did they ask for which you refused to provide?

    Hi all

Sorry to jump onto your thread but I have a question regarding charterhouse claims.

I signed a contract with them for a PPI claim and have received notification from them that it has been successful. Following this letter, received in June, I have still not received any payment from HSBC but am now receiving red letters from Charterhouse, a final demand for their fee of £1500!

I have called Charterhouse again today and have been told that they will chase the payment but I would need to call HSBC too to make sure that they have not paid the compensation off a loan account. They also advised me to 'ignore' the red letter which states that it has been passed to a debt collection agency. So, I called HSBC (even though I am paying Charterhouse to do this!) and was told that they do not have any letters on my file regarding this claim. The HSBC advisor told me to cancel the contract with Charterhouse since they take an [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] fee for their service, which I have to admit, has not been great! Can I cancel the contract with them? If so, how?

Any advice would be much appreciated!
  • Be told this delightful little company may offer a no win no fee, but they do charge 30% of all money back plus VAT yes folks and to you and me thats no recoverable, so thats a WOPPING 36% They are also difficult to talk to.. I wish I had done all my reclaiming myself as using them is going to cost THOUSANDS. BE TOLD!:(
