scratched laminate

I had good quality laminate fitting throughout the downstairs of my house this spring. Sadly today I pulled back a dinning chair to stand up and some grip must have been under the leg. The laminate has four scratches about 5cm long (it looks like the grip splinted, hence four scratches). The sratches are thankfully fairly shallow, but clearly visible.

I had a google and have ordered some coloured wax designed for laminate scratches. I am not sure how good the match will be, but it says the colours can be blended.

I have never made a home insurance claim before, but I am wondering if I should make one? Is the wax likely to do a decent job?

    If you make a claim
1.) There is a good chance the insurer will send someone to "make good" rather than replace.
2.) It may be considered as accidental - are you covered for accidental damage?
3.)There may well be an excesseven for repair work.
4.)Do you have no claims cover on your policy or are you prepared for the likely increase in premiums?
