min payment direct debit

If you have made a manual payment a few days before your DD is due to come out, I know HSBC will change the DD amount. So if you have it set to full, only the remaining balance is taken, and if you have it set to min, then no DD is taken (as long as you did pay the min)

Does anyone know if Santander, Nationwide, Lloyds, Halifax and Barclays CCs behave in the same way, and how many days in advance of the DD they need? I remember reading a thread about someone paying the less than the full payment, and expecting the min DD to still be taken, thus clearing the balance, which did not happen and landed them with interest charged on the entire month.
