Speed Camera Question

Hi people,

I've been googling trying to find an answer to this but can't find anything up to date about it.
I was driving home today, more than a bit distracted and yes I admit I was speeding (about 38 in a 30) - totally forgot about the speed camera on the other side of the road until it flashed me twice as I drove past.
Came home moaning that I've been caught speeding (yes, I know it's my own fault), and OH promptly tells me that the speed camera only covers the side of the road it's on.
I know time will tell, but wondered if this is the case or not? It's going to niggle me until I either get the ticket or the next fortnight passes.

If it is one that reads speed from a road sensor, just hope it didn't have any film.

If it was a Gatso, you should be ok, as they are only supposed to prosecute the ones going away from the camera.

I think that ones that flash are not supposed to do so at oncoming traffic (ie. into the eyes of the driver).

Not at all sure - think it was a Gatso, but it definitely flashed twice. There are those white road markings on the same side of the road as the camera, but none on the other side.

I'm pretty sure it only does that side of the road they always put markings on both sides well the ones I have drove past do your on the 2 week waiting list is what I like to say if you hear nothing your ok

What colour was the flash?

Normal camera type flash then your ok, magenta then get your money out.

Normally cameras do one side of the road. There was a camera near where I live that double flashed both sides of the road but this was, I think, because it was either badly set or had been hit and moved position. I think you should be ok if on the other side of the road to the camera.

I was on the other side of the road from the speed camera.
