Wrong Billing Address..Credit Card Rejection

Hi all,

I applied for the MBNA Platinum Balance Transfer card and was rejected. I have recently graduated from university but have been in a full time job for the last two years whilst studying with a regular income. I rung MBNA who said they rejected me because there was no record of a credit card on my credit file so didn't have enough information to base a decision on. However, I do have a credit card and have done for the last 3 years but it (until this morning) was registered at my university address, which I realise is probably why it didn't show up on their credit search. Is it worth waiting for my credit file to update my credit card billing address and then contact MBNA again? I am conscious that the rejection from MBNA will show up on my credit file..

Thanks in advance.
