Have I got myself a free car
Hi all, This is my first post so excuse me if I fail to follow the correct etiquette.
I recently bought a car from my local Vauxhall garage, 12 months old at a cost of £8500. I paid my deposit (£250) and went to collect the car 5 days later. Collected no problems but as yet they still haven't asked me to pay the outstanding £8250 :rotfl: . I was expecting to be asked for it when I went to pick up the car.
Strange. There is no finance involved as I was paying from my savings.
This was 7 weeks ago and I have received the Log Book back from the DVLA and it is in my name.
Has anyone come across this before? How long before they lose their right to ask for the payment.
Just to clairfy, I am willing to pay for it if they ask for the moeny, but I'm not going to actively push them to take it. Is there a chance I will get this car for free?

Are you sure you didn't sign up to some form of deferred payment agreement ?
We bought a Vauxhall car on such a scheme a few years ago where we paid an initial deposit and the balance two years later with 0% interest.
Do you remember signing any kind of finance agreement ?0 -
I would suggest you check with your bank to see if a direct debit has been set up to pay a "loan" would'nt be unheard of for a saleman to sneek in a loan agreement.I am a Mortgage Adviser

My 74 year old father bought a brand new car, and was paying in full, but the salesman had him sign a loan agreement, dad thought it was just the order! They make as much on the finance, even 0% as they do on the car!0
