Working full time - Can i claim housing benefit?

Hi Guys
Just another question about claiming benefits. Me and my wife have ILR and have 2 kids both have British citizenship.
I am working full time and my salary is 28k. My wife is not working as the little one is too young right now
I am privately renting a 2 bed apartment and the rent is £1100/month. with the 2 kids and some credit card payments, it is quite difficult to pay the bills and rent all in one pay
Can i get any assistance from the Brent Council towards my rent? I am receiving child benefit for the first child and have recently applied for the 2nd one.
Please advise
Thanks and Regards

Debt and other outgoings aren't relevant when claiming means tested benefits.0

I can't be sure but I would say you wouldn't be entitled to housing benefit. You are on a good wage and they won't take into account your out goings, your debts are not their problem.
I could be wrong though and would be interested in hearing other people's opinions.'No one can make you feel bad without your permission'
