Can anyone advise me how you get hold of the Virgin value tickets. Trying to book Manchester to newcastle and it is proving very expensive. As this will probably be a regular trip I would really like to know how to get my hands on these tickets.

Thanks for info but the cheapest ticket is still £37.05 return with railcard. I need to find a cheaper way of getting there.

If you aren't looking to travel on Sat or Sun, you could use MEGATRAIN to Carlisle from £1:50 each way, then saver return Car-New at £9:55, with a railcard.

This is very useful> Didn't know about Megabus but as this is a day trip it would take too long. It will be useful for future reference

The really cheap tickets are SINGLES. So use their search engine to find a cheap single in the morning, and another to come back at the end of the day.

It is a TRAIN not a bus but with connection times it does take longer than going via York
