Berlin Long Weekend

Hi there, I haven't been on holiday for almost two years now. I am just wondering how many Euros we would need to take for a three night trip to Berlin to be comfortable. I'm not sure how much the city rates in expensiveness to other European cities, or the UK. Bus to/from the airport seems to be about 5 euros for both of us and all other travel is sorted, so will be money for some sightseeing/u-bahn and for three meals a day as our hotel is room only. Thanks in advance

Berlin is not an expensive destination compared to other European cities, but obviously you can spend as much or as little as you want.0

As Bob says Berlin is comparatively quite cheap to some major European destinations. In addition a lot of the main sites have no cost (Brandenburg gate, East Side Gallery, Reichstag, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe etc). Organised tours are well priced, and taxis/public transport are affordable also.
As with any capital city food choices are entirely at your discretion. You can find very cheap sit down food, or even grab some Wurst for your lunch from a street seller, but also you could eat in hugely expensive top end restaurants.
It is a brilliant city by the way, have fun!0 -
To truly be able to answer this question first take a piece of string and measure it and let me now how you get on.
You can spend as much or as little as you want, you may well be happy with eating at mc d's everyday or you may want some more refined dining so the answer to your question relates to my previous questionLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Thanks, what I really meant was asking how expensive Berlin is comparatively, as when I went to Rome it cost us a fortune. Thanks for responses.0

Street food and local Turkish restaurants can both be good and cheap options. Ten euros is plenty for a filling lunch and 50cl beer. We were surprised by how little we spent there last summer without making any conscious effort to economise. We all developed a taste for the Turkish veggie pizza, and the beer was pretty good too.
It's all a bit subjective, but €100 per day for the two (not each) of you for food and beers should not involve you going hungry nor eating rubbish. After that, it's up to you.0
