Too late to add to my defence (MCOL)??

Hi there, I'm just looking for some advice on defending some rent arrears on MCOL.
My ex landlord is claiming I owe rent arrears, of which I do owe some, but not as much as they say.
I have answered a part admission and completed a defence for the period I do not owe, but on checking my contract I have also found that I am entitled to all interest due on the deposit that was held for me, which I firstly don't know exactly how much it is but I also didn't include this as part of the amount I don't think I owe.
Is it too late for me to add to my defence basically? This amount would also bring down the amount I previously admitted to and I don't if once you've admitted an amount, that's it you can't change it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
