New Look lying about refund amount

rachb, is that one of the letters threatening to take it to the small claims court?0
-
I basically need to know what action I can 'threaten' them with - how can it be legal for them to simply incorrectly claim they have paid me 'x' amount, and that's the end of it?0

You threaten them with small claims court who (on successfully winning your case) would then have to give you your refund for postage.
How much are we talking here?Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
somethingcorporate, it is only a few quid, and I obviously wouldn't actually spend any time or money on a small claims court
BUT that doesn't give them the right to lie about how much they have refunded me. How can there be such an utter lack of transparency or cooperation on their part that they can just tell me what they want when the proof says otherwise!

It costs £35 or so to raise a claim in the small claims court, plus all the postage and letter writing time. For the sake of a few quid it'll probably make you feel better putting a huge warning up in the praise, vents and warnings forum about what a bunch of morons these people are and get on with your life.Thinking critically since 1996....0

I think I will write to them as a last resort... then just vent if nothing comes out of it! Thanks everyone for all your advice0

But remember that the losing party has to pay the court costs, so no loss to the OP.0 -
Except the time and expense to have to go to court for the sake of a couple of quid postage.
The direct cost of the claim may be able to be added to the costs but seems like a huge amount of effort for <£5. Some battles are worth fighting, this one isn't.Thinking critically since 1996....0
