Any risks involved for second named driver?

I'm a new site member so I hope I'm doing this OK!
If I am a second 'named' driver on a young persons car insurance, do I have any risks to my own insurance if the car owner / main insurer has an accident or whatever?
It would seem that a new driver friend will have a big discount (almost 50%!) if I'm a named second driver! (found this out from a friend who heard about it from Martin on the radio!!)
It would in any event be useful if I was insured FC to drive the car now and again anyway!
Thanks.

The obvious risk is if you have an accident in the car whilst you're driving it. The slight risk is also a theft/ hit whilst unattended/ vandalism type claim after you were the last driver as most insurers record these claims against the last driver.
If you never ever use the car then there is no "risk" in being named on the policy - just make sure you keep them up to date if you have any claims or driving convictions etc0
