Failed Atos ESA medical, fit/sick note query

Hello all :-)

The letter informing me that I'd only received 12 points is dated July 28th last. It goes on to say that I have one month from that date to appeal and 'may' need to supply a doctor's note so I presume that that's the date I was disallowed from.

From reading other posts, may actually means must.

I'm a bit thick with regards to this. Can some kind soul tell me whether I need to ask my doctor to backdate the paper beginning from the 28th of last month or the 29th.

You were found well sometime on the 28th.this means you need a sick note to cover you from the 28th.
If you had a medical,you probably want to get a copy of this. Desperately, you want a 'written statement of reasons' on the decision.
This will both explain how the decision was come to, and extend the period you have before the appeal must be in.
