Same bidder (0) for 3 items . Time Waster???

Hi I have the same zero feedback e-bay bidder barryd656 bidding on 3 the same three items I have for sale and all are unusually high bids considering they have approx 1 day left to run. I have done a hammer tap search and this buyer ais putting in lots of strong offers on mobiles.

I have e0mailed him but no reply.

My question : is there a scam he can pull if he wins my auctions and doesn't pay ie. other than completley wasting my time and money (and no he's not getting jack sent out until money clears!)

Also can i remove his bids as the items have a number of bidders and under 1 day to run.

What else can i do to verify him - it does seem very odd that he's bidding on so many mobiles.

any help greatly appreciated.

regards,

huggins

He can't do you any direct harm, but he sis stopping other people bidding.
By the time you have files a non-paying bidder alert and gone back to the 2nd bidder they will probably already have bought something somewhere else.

    You can cancel his bid.
If you cannot verify his identity after all means have been tried then you are allowed to cancel the bid.

    Hi Huggins
If you go to the ebay home page, at the very top there's a "services" button. Click on that and then scroll down the page. Cancel bids is on the right hand side under manage active listings. Before you can cancel it, write down your listing number and the buyer's ID. You have to enter those and then write a brief (1 liner) about why you're cancelling. Hope this helps!

I had to cancel 1 of my sales this week, clearly stated what it was and a person with 1 feedback said they no longer wanted it.....grrrr!! I'm a reasonable seller 200+positive so cancelled it as I didn't want the agro as £50 bid.

If there's no response from buyer then def. cancel their bids. Good luck!!

Shadow that's great many thanks for the advice. Nothing more annoying than time wasters? and what do they stand to benefit? plus not worth risking the possible neg feedback as you say.

So if i cancel bids - is assume they can't bid again on the items.

You need to block him from bidding again. Go to help and type in block bidder(s?) and that will sort you out.

Checking his bidding history he has bought a few in the last few days, contact those sellers and check if he has paid. Ensure you take a note of all serial numbers prior to sending any phone to avoid it being switched and returned as faulty.

    Hope this helps

    many thanks Hintza

Have checked hsi bid hist and he doesn't appear to have won any phones yet ie. auctions not yet closed - so can't check with seller. Unless I'm doing something wrong. Came up with 7 bids - all very recent.

    many thanks

Here are the ones he has won:-

To be honest he is consistent in what he pays.

Another ploy could be, he is a seller himself (assuming he is a seller). If he is a seller and bids up the competition, his items would appear cheaper?
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:
