A few months ago I moved into a new flat with my girlfriend, but the money situation has been hell.
We can move out at the end of Sept, but i dont know what to do till then.
After rent, council tax and electric/water etc. I'm, to be honest, F£$!Ked.
I've got only £90 left for the month, GF around £130. We've also got £100's worth of Sainsburys vouchers lol, Got them cheap from work (Ladbrokes offer so many discounts for employee's). Thats pretty much it.
Travel is £3/4 a day for me..and unbelievably £11 a day for my girlfriend (we split this pretty evenly)
I have no idea what to do. I have one person I can borrow from, but i owe them money from before and I know she will help me but I feel so bad for it.
At the end of September we can move out, and also, annoyingly in one way, my transfer to a new shop will increase my wages significantly. I'll be with just under £1,000 after rent etc. at this point, so I will be able to pay anything back.
I also smoke, however I doubt I will be much this month (Dreading this the most
)
What really is my plan of action here? I don't know what to do.
I'm living on a hope of a great tipping month, however its generally only £10 a week given.

Tricky one...
I guess you could consider the vouchers an asset.
Can you use some of the sainsburys vouchers for your normal food shopping and then maybe sell the rest in order to make some cash for other expenses? Or perhaps use them to buy things that you could then sell on? If you know lots of people who smoke could you use the vouchers to buy cigarettes and then sell them for a bit of a discount to friends or colleagues? Don't smoke myself but I know people who do that are constantly moaning about cigarettes costing £7.50 a pack. (don't just smoke them all!)0 -
Also, don't know how far you're travelling for work but can you borrow a bike from anyone for a bit and cycle?0

Sainsburys sell food, homeware, electricals, petrol and lots more. Make sure you're utilising the vouchers for those things you need (and also presents for birthdays, Christmas etc). Trade them with friends.
I'd suggest:
1. Go to https://www.makesenseofcards.co.uk and complete a statement of affairs.
2. Post your SOA on the Debt-free Wannabe part of this forum and ask for help.
3. Go to https://www.whyquit.com for help with quitting smoking. Or see your GP.
4. Get in to the Old Fashioned Money Saving part of this forum for other tips.0 -

Can I just ask is there any reason you've moved into a flat you can't afford to run as surely you knew the rent etc and what wage you get.0
