Car Insurance : No Claims Bonus
The last time i owned a car, I have comprehensive insurance with a 5 year no claims bonus.
I then changed job and was given a brand new company car. I no longer needed my old car, so sold it. I had a company car for about 4 years.
Now I intend buying a new car and was wondering whether my no claims bonus is lost, meaning I'll have to start all over again, paying high premiums, or at least much higher than I did in 2007, for what will be a much small car.
Any input would be appreciated.
Many thanks !

NCD is only valid with most insurers for two years I'm afraid, have been in a similar position0

If you talk with a broker they'll find you someone who will give you a decent introductory bonus.
WHen I opted out of the company car scheme, my wife's car was with Aviva, and they gave me a discount equivalent to 5 years no claims. And when I bought a second fun car for summer, they did the same again.0 -
PS. If you don't get any joy, try contacting whoever insured your company car - they might be willing to do something0

Hi all,
I'm not sure, if this is the correct place to post this. I can't seem to find a suitable place for it so apologies in advance.
I need some information about NCD. My dad used to have two cars. Second car started off with zero NCD but his first main car had 8 years NCD in 2008. He got rid of the main car in 2011. So what happens to his NCD from that car? He was told that the NCD has gone with the car. Surely, that can't be right? His insurance on the second car, which has now become his only car is due on the 26th (with 4 years NCD). I hope I'm making sense. Can the NCD that he has built over the years be saved/transferred?
I need advice on this please.
Thanks all
