Getting a more useful/practical credit card..

in Credit cards
I currently have two credit cards- one with Vanquis with a £1,250 credit limit and one with my bank (First Direct) with a £500 limit. The former I have had for well over 20 months and the latter since about January of this year.
Neither are particularly good for using abroad, so I was looking at perhaps getting the Halifax Clarity card given its more favourable rates when used in other countries.
I'm aware that I don't need three separate credit cards and don't want to adversely affect my credit rating by applying for said third.
What would be the best way forward- cancelling one of the cards so that I only have two? Or what exactly.
I appreciate any advice.. Thanks!

Three cards ante excessive and your available balance on the current ones are pretty low. Probably worth applying for. Third assuming you earn reasonable money, your credit file is ok and you haven't applied for much credit in the last six months to a year.0
