Hello all

i have been working in uk for a firm that i left in mid july. however at the end of july, i took three pay day loans with Quick quid, speedy cash and money shop for the total of 800 pounds and lied on loan application that i am still employed. i gave them the details of my employer who i left in mid july. they also took my passport photocopy.

due to some unforeseen circumtances, i have to leave uk permanantly next week

please help me with these questions

will they arrest me at airport?

will they contact my employer and sue them for the payment?

in my contract it says "right to contact employer"

does it mean they can call them and ask them for payment?

also, will i get a criminal record based on this?

please help

What about the £30k you also owe? You borrowed the £800 knowing you were leaving the country so why worry now?

    TROLL!

And the redundancy money that he doesn't want them to know about ... We've got a right one here! ;)

No. Or at least it would be very unlikely. I imagine you'll be long gone before any of the payday loan companies realise what has happened.

They may very well contact your employer in their efforts to trace your whereabouts, but your employer has no liability for any loans you may have taken out.

Given that you admit that you lied on your application form, it is entirely possible. That would depend (initially at least) on whether any of the payday loan companies in question were minded to make a criminal complaint.

    no

no - they may hassle them but the employer will tell them to eff off

in my contract it says "right to contact employer"
indeed they will, no it won't get them very far - they're trying to track *you* down, only you owe the debt

does it mean they can call them and ask them for payment?
they may try, won't get very far

also, will i get a criminal record based on this?
no - however you will almost certainly get a CCJ against you which will prevent you from getting any kind of credit for 6 yrs+

    please help

You're kinda in the clear - if they don't realise you lied, they will annoy people associated with you as the PDL companies will hassle them, but it is your debt. However you do still owe the money, and interest and fees will clock up a bit until they get a CCJ against you, which will be waiting for you when you come home (if you ever do - permenantly is a long time, you may find you want to come home in a year or two...it'll be waiting)

On the other hand, this was fraud, which is criminal. Whether they will pursue this as a criminal case for £800 is questionable.

This sentance seems to indicate you have more problems to worry about than an £800 debt.

Why not take responsibility for your actions and pay off any debts ?

But you lied to get pay day loans so why does any of this bother you as clearly you think you can get away with it.

They will have you put on the red list at the airport for the £800 you owe..expect the full weight of the law for that..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
