BMW Servicing on the cheap

Does anyone know where I can get the oil service done on my BMW cheaply (somewhere around London or Birmingham). I can do it myself but I want a stamp in the book as it has a FSH so far from the previous owner, and I want the service indicator resetting. My local mechanic was happy to do it and stamp the book but he didnt have the relevant tool to reset the service indicator.

    No.

You only need to hold the left odometer reset button while turning the key to position 1. Keep holding the button for 5 or so seconds until any of the following shows in the display: OIL SERVICE or INSPECTION with RESET or RE. Release the button and press it again for another 5 or so seconds until RESET or RE flash. While the display flashes, press the button one more time briefly. If done correctly, END SIA should show up for a few seconds. All done.

Depending on the Model of your car, look on https://www.justgoodcars.com for BMW servicing normally a good choice on there

Mine's a Sept 2000 model, and it works on that and newer cars. Agreed, earlier cars and you need a reset tool or ground some pins but you need to careful with that.
