Early Learning Centre used to have a lovely wooden Noah's Ark shapesorter, which is sadly discontinued. There are lots of other Noah's Arks available though, and I think they make a lovely gift - bible themed, but little ones like the animal toys etc, and it should last them a long while.

My wife and I attend Church every Sunday, we specifically asked for no gifts when inviting people to children's baptisim as we felt people had already been more than generous with the gifts when they were born and it was only a few weeks later.

We did have a collection for the local SANDS charity for those that felt they must give something, we felt we shouldn't expect friends and family to give another gift so soon after the birth.

Some people might say we are religous due to the fact we attend each week, that said we didn't expect our guests to bring another gift for the baptisim.

For our friends little girl we got her a bear factory toy. Dressed it as a bit of a rock chic look as the mum is very into clothes like that and the parents loved it. Plus you can do it's birth date as the Christening date.

Dress a little smart & take a card

Success! Have managed to find a nice maxi dress after traipsing round the shops all day and trying on some very unflattering [STRIKE]tents[/STRIKE] ;) dresses. It's completely plain coral-coloured, so can be dressed up or down with makeup and accessories. It's not a maternity dress either, so I'll be able to wear it post-pregnancy. :money:

I've also managed to find both the girls presents linked to their names - just hope they arrive in time as I've had to order them (if not, I'll have to give them to them after the event, which won't be a problem as their Mum and I will see each other the week after the Christening as long as my baby doesn't try to put in an early appearance). :D

Thank you for all of your wonderful advice.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
