neighbours want to move drain into our garden?

I thought the idea of a septic tank was to allow solids to settle and be eaten by microbes, and for the liquids to drain off into a drain field. They could have a soakaway built in their garden to cope with excess runoff.

Listen to phil, and get them to compensate you for the upheaval and disturbance.

    Am I being un-neighbourly?, no

Will you be doing them a favour? dam well right you will.

Will they be your neighbours in 10 years time?? Not likely.

    No free lunch.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

I'm also wondering why there's a need for a run-off pipe FROM a septic tank to run under your garden ...?

So we have a run off or overflow pipe? containing your neighbours fermented crap running over your land ;)

    Your choice.
Ok I know many have to have shared sewers under their properties, but that is estate dwellers and they don't get the choice, they buy a plot with all proposals shown. They don't get the choice, you do.

They probably find the soakaway area is always damp and may want to reclaim that bit of their garden for their own use...best way is to dump all the effluent on your gullible neighbour...lol

What route does the overflow follow at present? Does it run under your garden?

I would go with #17 above - just tell them nicely "sorry my mortgage lender refused. I had to get their permission". You will otherwise take on a whole load of trouble for nothing - and potentially devalue your own property and not get to use your garden / outdoor space exactly as you please.

I wouldnt you might regret it later on and by then its too late. It could be raised when you come to sell and the buyer finds out
