Is it ok to sell branded clothing on Ebay?

Hi this is my first thread here so hello everyone :p

I am a registered business on ebay (since 4 mths) and currently sell a couple of well known high street lables (clothing). I carefully snip the size bit of the lable if the item is bnwt.

I know there are hundreds of private sellers doing the same but I have just filled my tax return and am hoping to operate for at least another year.

I am looking into the legal side of things regarding the sale of branded clothing. All my items are bought from the UK and I have receipts of everything. Am I missing anything legally here? I know a fellow seller who was approached by solicitors of the designers whose items she was selling but they went away once she showed them receipts etc. She continues to sell with their knowledge.

I tend not to say that I am a trader if I buy directly from the High Street so am I doing anything wrong here - pls advise as I know Im sounding naiive!

Thanks, :o

They're in your possession, so you can sell them in any way you wish, regardless of receipts. If you didn't have receipts, the onus would still be on the companies to prove you were selling stolen goods or not selling genuines.

The only no no would be to sell fake branded goods.

I'm pretty sure it's all OK to sell them, but never misrepresent them. ie. say they look like something else but they aren't. Always be truthful with the brand and never liken it to another, just be clear in the listing. Good luck!
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
