There maybe local rules on the timing of bonfires, but in general there are no laws against burning garden refuse providing you are careful and do not cause a danger to road users or property.

Cut it all down. Pile it in the middle of the garden then nobody can moan you have it stacked up against their fence.

Put a little bit of it every week into the wheely bin and it will soon go down.

think i may of read my local councils page wrong then Jnelhams this is what it said :-
Bonfires comprising 'green' material, rubbish and plastics readily cause smoke, deposit nuisance, cause an unpleasant odour and also have an effect on local air quality. Apart from producing dirty particulate matter that pollutes other peoples' gardens, properties and lungs, bonfires produce numerous toxic chemicals including dioxins.
Bonfires can pose a particular problem to those living nearby when numerous bonfires are lit by different gardens or allotment holders.
Legal action may be taken in the Magistrates Court against those causing smoke nuisance and deposit nuisance from bonfires with a maximum fine of £5000.

am i panicking over nothing ?

Yes. If someone wants to report you then there is nothing you can do now - just do as in post number 3 from now on.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

They are simply saying if you are one of those pests that light stinky smokey bonfires early evening (usually before 8pm) and if the neighbours have washing in the line or sitting in the garden then expect a visit from environmental health.

If you are simply having a late night bonfire on a dry still night once a month then no one is going to be able to do much.

And Black Elderberry that's the law!

I didn't say it wasn't the law - but if the OP is one for panicking and lighting fires in a metal garden bin rather than an incinerator, then perhaps it's best for them to stay clear of lighting fires in their garden.
