LG problems and don't know what to do.

If the engineer made the fault then they should still have to fix it.
Phone them back and ask them what the engineer says about the fault before he left.
If the fault is repairable then the washing machine normally has a 5 year parts guarantee where all parts are free and labour is needed.
You therefore get them to fix it and then take them to court for the money they took off you as the problem occurred during the warranty period or by the engineer.
Simples
I didn't ask initially for a refund or replacement. The engineer who came out to fix the machine before leaving said he would write this machine off and a replacement machine would be sent. So I have no idea why he didn't want to replace parts or whatever. He decided that I needed a new machine and I just went with it because that's what I have been told.
So today - I phone them and after speaking to the rudest most obstruction man at LG - who told me that as a good will gesture they would only replace the machine. I can't believe that they are still stating it's a good will gesture, in my book, there is nothing good will about it given the circumstances. So he then tells me a replacement is the only option and it takes 4 weeks. Absolutely disgusting, I've already been without a machine for 2 weeks. He also told me that the company I purchased the machine from are actually still trading and if I wanted my refund I was to go to them - when I pointed out the fact that no company is going to refund me my money for a damaged machine that they broke! Unbelievable really.
I decided to phone head office and speak to their exeuctive department so see what actually is going on because of the lies and the general inconsistency of what I've been told over the phone the past 2 weeks.
To cut a long story short - I have been reserved a new machine, a better spec model than I currently have because of they don't stock many machines with an 11kg drum now. It should also arrive within 7 days.
I am in two minds whether to really complain about the inconvenience, the hassle of having no machine, and the general rudeness I've been subjected to by LG's customer services but I expect that'll take another 2-3 weeks to sort and more phone calls and I'd like this to be over and done with.
I have never ever come across such a shambles of a customer support services, I have an LG telly that I'm praying won't go wrong because I can't got through this again and I won't be buying LG again in a hurry.
Thanks for all your answers - all have been helpful. I'll let you know if LG deliver the goods within the week they've stated!0 -
Sounds as if you have got a result (time will tell, when it arrives) if it was me I would rant a bit but I don't think you are going to get much further so time to let the blood pressure ease back down.
Well done.0 -
I'll leave it be for now and see whether they can deliver it promptly within the time I've been stated, if I've got to wait any longer then 10 days or so I think I'll continue with the rant.
What they don't seem to appreciate that whilst they are faffing about telling me umpteen different things it's costing me time, money and relatives electricity and their time and effort of having to do my households washing (6 people). It's about a 30 mile round trip to do my washing.
We shall see!0 -
So I need some new advice!
A week on - I'm still waiting for the new washing machine...
My issue now is they are refusing to provide any form of laundry compensation because I haven't used a launderette.
Surely this is beyond unacceptable? I'm not sure what else to do really, it's been 3 weeks without a machine and LG don't seem to care about the total inconvenience they have caused.
Any words of wisdom because I'm now at a loss.0
