Guarantor issues / can I afford this flat?

And posters have answered your question - the majority do not think it is possible; you seem to think that it is, so why not just go ahead and do it. Good luck.
Ok.. So if I can't afford a one bedroom flat, what other forms of accommodation are there, and where can I find the advertisements? Assuming the council take a while providing me with temp. accomm.0 -

You need to get on the LA Housing Register, whereby you'll have to go through income assessments and interviews.
It sounds rubbish I know, but we were in HA accommodation before I started the company, and were paying stupidly low rates of rent compared to market rates.
What you are saying is possible, but living on that amount, even for a single person, isn't going to be easy. From past experience, it can take up to £80 a week for various bits.
On the LHA side, have you specifically mentioned that you're on DLA, as although you're ticking all the boxes on the front of retaining the LHA, there may be extra allowances that are available.
It's also going to be important to check the records of the award notice, as if they've included DLA as living income (as mine do until myself/the other specialist moan at them), they shouldn't be. This will need to be revised accordingly.

You have two identical threads running, which is slightly confusing. Shared accommodation was suggested on your other thread.0 -

Forgive me if I'm being blunt at the moment, however I need to get the facts straight.
1) Who are you living with?
2) Have you got anything in writing asking you to leave?
3) Have you been to see the council about getting yourself on the HR?
4) Why are you going down the private route, and how many private lets have you seen? I honestly believe you can't afford it. The property seems very expensive if you're looking at LHA + 50%
