Parcels from Switzerland?

Someone is sending me a parcel from Switzerland. It's not commercial, so would I have to pay any charges?

Thanks.

Depends on the value, and whether or not marked as a gift - may be subject to Import VAT and Customs Duty as Switzerland is not in the EU

Oh, and the fee from Parcel Force/DHL/Fedex for clearing your goods for you - unless you arrange to clear them through Customs yourself. This ranges from £8-£15 approx and will apply even on a low value item or gift
