Cheap west end tickets

I'm not sure if this is the right place, or even if it's been posted previously, but...
while visiting London for the Olympics we were approached by promotional teams from theatres offering us discounted theatre tickets for west end shows!
We were personally offered Shrek tickets at less than half price as they simply weren't selling due to the Olympics - people are staying away from London! Others from our group had similar experiences with other theatres as they made they way around the capital. To be clear these are people from the theatre themsleves not random touts on the street
So if you want to escape the Olympics for a little while and catch a show you may just grab a bargain HTH
