New Credit Card for Graduate

in Credit cards
Rather than simply scattering applications around, I'd appreciate some advice before starting the process. My daughter graduated in June and is lucky enough to have received an offer of employment, starting in September. She needs a credit card, if nothing else because she'll be incurring work-related expenses soon after.
If she applies online now, would it be possible to somehow use the offer as back-up for her application and any credit limit, or would she need to wait until she actually starts?
Alternatively, would there be more understanding and leeway if she went into the bank she has an account with?

Yes her bank where she had her student or Graduate account would be her best bet.
Best if she talks to someone in person at a branch than try an online application where it is more likely to be a black and white process.0
