Cold floor solutions?

I have a ground floor bathroom leading off the kitchen with a lobby in between where the back door is. The floor is tiled with cream tiles so completely ridiculous colour for such a through traffic area and with children. The floor is also absolutley freezing
I was thinking that we could hardboard over and then put some sort of vinyl down. Would that warm it up???
What sort of cost would that involve. 12 x 8 kitchen, 4 x8 lobby and 12 x 8 bathroom
Many thanks
