In work credit

Does anyone know how the in work credit (£40 a week payments after returning to work) are paid? Is it paid weekly or monthly? I started work the middle of last month, and have just received a payment from DWP of £280. This seems too much to be the in work credit as I assumed it was paid weekly?

Many thanks

  • Not sure as we weren't entitled to it because were a couple could that not be your back to work grant and another thing

It was several years ago that I received the in work credit, but it was paid weekly.

Are you saying only Single people can claim it?

    Xmas Saver!
When I went back to work about 4 years ago I received a one off payment of £250 and then £40 a week for the first year. The one of payment was to help with back to work costs. I also got full housing benefit for the first month.
Get a folder as every week you will get a letter saying the money has gone into your bank !

I do get help with my rent, but housing benefit has always been paid to me from the council, this says on my statement it's from DWP, I'm baffled as to what it is, as my rent is much higher than that lol

I think couples can claim it, but they only get £100
