Barclaycard Initial credit card

Boyfriend applied for Barclaycard Initial to improve his credit score.
Received strange letter today from Barclays...

'Because you already have the type of Barclaycard account that you applied for, we are unable to accept your application'

What on earth does that mean? He has a current account with Barclays, but no credit card

Any ideas?

Or, more likely, because you already have three?! I'm assuming some of your others came about when BC bought various companies such as Morgan Stanley, Egg etc?

Oh dear - he hardly hijacked your thread - he asked you a question which you ignored and then he simply posted a comment afterwards to which someone responded. What was he meant to do say "Sorry I can not respond to you it isn't MY thread"... He wasn't asking for help from anyone he simply posted a comment that someone responded to.

Threads are started and this often results in discussions - it is a forum after all.

I believe people have offered you suggestions but at the end of the day the only people that can answer your question is the company themselves...has it occured to your BF to ask them what they meant?
