Is there a way to stop/block scrolling images on websites?

Hello all
Is there a way to stop images/adverts automatically scrolling across the screen on websites?
For example on my local council webpage the news 1-6 stories automatically scroll through.
I have vertigo and the motion of these scrolling things really affects it!
Thanks

I use Firefox with the NoScript add on. Checked that site and I see nothing scrolling or moving.
However if I "allow" carmarthenshire.gov.uk via the NoSript menu then I see the 6 items "slide in" in the center of the screen.
I clicked the next button 5 times after which the scrolling/ sliding stopped.
Hope that helps.0 -
Thanks I use FF too. I downloaded the add on you suggested. It stops the scrolling, but then doesn't allow me to click through the 1-6 items on the webpage I gave.* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Ah yes, that's the trouble with NoScript.
As the name suggests, it stops a lot of scripts running but it does take some time to get used to it.
On that site you would have to "allow" carmarthenshire.gov.uk (in the NoScript menu) to be able to read the 6 news items, so not really a big help on that site:o
That's why I added the last paragraph in my first post. (about clicking thro' the 6 items quickly)
It does stop a lot of third party sites throwing scrolling adverts (or worse) at you and is a brilliant piece of security software but many find it too much like hard work, although once you've allowed the first party sites that you trust, it dosent bother you much, just stops third party ads and scripts etc . . . but can in some cases block something that's needed for a site to function properly - which you then have to "allow" bit of a learning curve. (you're not still reading this are you?):)
easy to turn off tho' - from the menu click Allow Scripts Globally0
