What happens if credit card is in credit?

in Credit cards
Hi. I bought an item on my credit card for a couple of hundred pounds. Since buying the item I have paid the ballance of my credit card off and it is now £0. I now need to return the item I bought and therefore assume that I will be in credit on my card. Can the credit card company give me the money that's in credit back I.e transfer it into my bank or send me a cheque?
Thanks
Thanks

In these circumstances, usually the money will sit there and you can either spend it or request that the card co returns it by cheque or BACS.
Don't draw it out of an ATM though, as they'll still charge you cash advance fees!0 -
However if you deliberately put a card into credit the company can suspend your account or even charge you a fee as it contravenes most companies regulations.
In your case that's highly unlikely to happen. As already stated, either use the card to bring it down or ask for a refund.0
