PPI Claim Black Horse

I had a loan with Black Horse to the value of £10,00 around 2003 when I bought car. I am sure I paid PPI on the loan. However unfortunately since I have move home on at least 3 occasions since then and have lost any documentation relating to the loan. Therefore I cannot prove I paid PPi

I recently asked my bank Santander for 10 years worth of bank statements and managed to locate the Black Horse Account number. I was paying around £180 per month on the loan and I am sure a proportion of that was PPI.

I recently sent in a PPI claim letter to Black Horse stating the account number and that I felt i had been missold PPI.

However they have written back to me telling me that according to their records I did not have PPI on the loan. However should I ask them for a copy of any loan documentation to confirm this is the case ?? Are the legally obliged to provide me with such documentation if I request it ?
