No problem. Felt great to find a glitch myself. Glad it has lasted as long.
  • Hmm, that's weird then Hope they will be OK.
TCB has tracked yet either, was hoping it would so I can submit a claim to get it up to 20% instead of the 12% they are offering ;)

    Ah booger

I know why I have no emails, in my haste to get the first order in I mistyped it :(

I am with TalkTalk for both telephone and internet but for the last six months or so my internet connection has been unreliable, often no connection or very slow. Have called them several times and they test the line, can't find any fault and then connection is OK for a few weeks. Am so fed up with it now that am considering a different internet provider or fibre optic...would this make the connection more reliable?
My contract with TalkTalk has ended so they keep calling me to renew and offer me a cheaper rate but I keep stalling as reliability is more important than cost as my husband often works from home and needs internet.
    Any advice would be appreciated..:):)

My contract is with AOL which is now part of Talk Talk (although T/T seems to regard AOL customers as the poor relations when it comes to service etc!).

I've had a few little problems in the past but, since mid June I have had ENDLESS difficulties - connection drops out after a few minutes, computer can't locate router, local connection only, wildly fluctuating download speed (from 1.5meg down to 0.05 meg ie nothing!). The Indian call centre staff gave me a different answer every time I rang, some got me to change various settings on my main computer - which resulted in the ****** computer having a major heart attack and cost me £70 to get sortd via the local computer repair shop.

They told me all sorts of daft things but, after I threw several major hissy fits, decided it was my outside line and sent in an engineer free of charge (had to wait 3 weeks for an engineers slot!). And, guess what, my outside line is OK, the problem seemed to be my old router (which I had been telling them was faulty for weeks). The contract engineer renewed my router, changed its location and did a few other tweeks and now everything seems OK. Much better download speed, stronger signal and fairly stable connection.

However, I - and apparently many other AOL customers - can no longer view the monthly bill online as AOL have changed the software and its no longer possible to access AOL bills via the AOL desktop. I was able to view using Chrome but now thats gummed up as well.

Load of prats in my opinion - they've been offering me half price too but that would lock me into a new 18 month contract and they don't seem to understand my reluctance to commit while they are still so unreliable.

I forgot to add - I would suggest demanding to have the problem escalated as you are paying for a service which you are not getting. Put pressure on them to book you an engineers visit FREE of charge - they seem to use S/E contractors with a bit of common sense and hopefully he will be able to sort out the issues. I had several different but linked problems and it would have been impossible to resolve over the phone. Don't agree to pay a call out fee though.

I knew i forgot to tell you lot something. Do you know that B + M sell alcohol now? I got a bottle of peach snapps for £4.99 which i thought was a bargain. They had loads of other spirits and wine in. great for stocking up the crimbo cupboard!

We got ours in good old Ikea. I bought some of the freestanding range (Varde?) wall cupboards as I liked the way they opened (up and over!) but wanted fitted base units so bought some plain wooden ones (sorry can't remember the name) and matched them.
Really pleased with the quality. Every bit as good as the kitchen we bought from a specialist shop in our previous house.
Worktops we bought in Howdens as Ikea didn't do them long enough.
I ordered all my appliances online. Wanted a range type cooker but without the gaps so opted for two seperate built in ovens and put them side by side with a big gas hob over the top. I did this in my previous kitchen too and would deffo do it again.

Thanks for this, I didn't think of Ikea, I had catalogue through the other day I will go and dig it out. We won't be able to do anything until we get in the new house but I want to have a good idea of what I want as its the first thing we are going to do. The kitchen does not have a dishwasher:eek::eek::eek: I seem to have 3 years worth of dishwasher tablets somehow:o so a whole new kitchen is in order to use them :D:D:D
