can i ask a dumb question, i have only just learnt to sell on ebay and complete newbie to the selling side

I have emptied the loft as we are getting it boarded up and need to clear loads of junk

Listed a few items on free listing weekend but was only allowed 10 items then :(

now they've upped my allowance i'm a bit confused as to what sort of starting price to put things on for

can you ebay veterans advise pretty pls?

am i likely to get more interest if i put the initial bid for 99p? obviously risk of selling at 99p then if no-one is interested

with large items that are for collection only obviously no P&P to bump up the price:p

    help!

If it were mine I would do a System Restore back to before you let your husband near it - not sure if it will fix it but worth a go.

If something for collection only is worth more than £15 I would put a buy it now price with the "best offer" option - think it works out cheaper that way.

There is a useful website called I think ecal and you can work out what your listing and selloing fees and your paypal costs will be so you can adjust things. Also for smaller things you are posting its worth investing in a little electronic scales and then you can weight things and use the Royal Mail website to work out the cost of postage.

Start them at the lowest price you would be happy to get for the item , it's a false economy to start at .99p and hope for the best .

It's a gamble but I'm a great believer in starting at 99p;)Experience has taught me its the way to go. Also with Buy it Now you get into the Distance Selling regs where people can return things to you if they change their mind, but with auctions they can't;) Totally up to you but I'd do the 99p route:)
