Evening all, I've got no chance of catching up, spent all afternoon packing for our holiday, took oh to the hospital just to get his foot dressed and it's alot worse since yesterday, gangrene is spreading and infection has spread right across the underneath of his foot so they've took him into hospital.
I just don't know what to do, was going to phone up and cancel holiday but he's made me promise not to cancel and still take our daughter. It's only 40 minutes drive so if I go after visiting tomorrow I can come back to visit tuesday & thursday, his brother is going in sunday & wednesday, my sister monday & friday and we'd be back next saturday.
Am I being selfish even considering it?

So sorry to hear that, I remember you saying before that you hoped the surgery would not be needed till after your hols:(

I had a similar situation at half term, we (OH and three kids) had all booked to go to Paris for 5 days, I look after my mum and I could tell her mobility and general health was getting worse toward the holiday, I had even thought she might need carers visiting while we were away, but a week before we we were due to go she fell at home and went into hospital.

I felt so guilty even considering still going on holiday, but in the end she had a chat to me and I realised that she would feel it was her fault if I didnt go, and she would be very guilty about 'spoiling' the holiday for the kids. But I said i would feel guilty if I went on holiday.

We agreed in the end that I should go for the kids, not for me or her. A friend of mine agreed to visit her, as did a relative, and another friend works on the ward and said she would see she was OK. I texted my friend who read them out to my mum, so she hopefully didnt feel we had forgotten about her!

I hope you are able to make a decision that you are all comfortable with, and at least you are close enough to visit if needed.

Take care and hope that your OH surgery goes well.

I don't usually go to T in the evening but when I went back for my DTD I did a tour of the reduced counters - well it would have been rude not to ;)

Anyway the lovely SA was just reducing the meat by 80% and there was hardly anyone around.

    So I got £65 of meat for £13 :j
Including finest rack of lamb - bring back any memories for anyone ? :rotfl:

Only problem is I've never bought it before and have no idea how to cook it. I'd appreciate cooking tips from anyone with experience please :p

In the slow cooker in some kind of sauce would be nice. :)
