I was visiting my son last night when I asked if I could borrow a newspaper.

'This is the 21st century, my son said. 'I don't waste money on newspapers. Here, you can borrow my iPad.'

I can tell you this, that damn fly never knew what hit him.

Not been about much but just saw this and wanted to say I have an oldie cat - Percy who has got kidney disease. He's been with us for nearly 10 years and has been on medication from day one - if the vets were right when we got him then he's 22yrs old!

Anyway, he's been on Fortekor and has regular blood checks to make sure his levels are ok and things aren't worsening. We've only once had to give a urine sample, that was when the initial diganosis was beeing made.

We're lucky with the tablets we have - they are palatable and Percy just eats them straight from our hand - he's a peculiar cat though! :)
We don't have him on a special diet, he wouldn't touch the stuff. If Skinny Cat doesn't want to eat the diet don't feel bad about it, the most important thing is that they eat. But if he does like it then that's great! :)
Here's a link to a fantastic site (i think as well as my vet) with a lot of useful information
    http://www.felinecrf.org/index.htm

Yes they are the tablets we have been given, she has to have them once a day we decided on evenings because then everything is a little less hectic we are due to go back in 3 weeks I couldnt hear the vet very well on the phone as it has a fault on it but he is very thorough & will give me an exact run down of the results percentages etc when I see him because of the health problems of the previous cats he talks to me like I'm some sort of medical expert

She had some of the special diet chunks last night & this morning but is now hiding she'll come out later when she wants to watch the T.V.

Thanks for your advice, still in shock not ready to read that website yet will wait till we've been back to the vets so I have the full picture

Palatable tablets rarely are with our cats but I'll try tonight

    Morning all!

FINALLY heard back from the docs, HbA1c is 7% which is perfect, I was expecting it to be a little lower but 7's fine - phew!

Right, off to read back from last night x
