I had a swimming party in my back garden for my grandaughters 8th birthday. (only one of those 18 foot inflatable jobbies before anyone gets any ideas about me living in Purdita Mansion
) We had a BBQ and lots of party games. The one the kids loved best was where they had two teams and a race where they had to wear mens wellies, stop to put on a hat, a mans jacket, climb through a hoop etc. then take them off on the way back before the next person in the team set off.
I think they are so used to sitting infront of the Tv or with a PSP/Wii/DS that they really enjoy playing daft games.0 -

I agree. That's exactly why I want to do something different for him. McDonalds is too easy (not to mention not at all mse) I can take him there anytime. I can't do his birthday party anytime
I am a wee bit annoyed at some of the things I have heard tonight and am very cross that his dad hasn't done anything about the situation that's going on right nowI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Just spoke to Nannlylala on the phone and thats exactly what I told her;)She's getting frustrated because Nannylala is a real mother hen who wants to cooch you up and feed you up and Auntielala doesnt want to eat at the moment:(:(:(She just wants to sleep and has been feeling really sick
This is normal after a chemo session, it knocks you for 6 and really takes it out of you, you have tablets for the sickness that can make you sick too!
I'm guessing she'll be having them in 3 weekly sessions....just as you start to feel better from one session, your onto the next one....she'll need a lot of rest but it will be worth it,
I'm sure you and master Lala with lift Nanny and auntielala's spirits at the weekend xx"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" Benjamin Franklin

Lots of party games is the answer,
Pass the parcel - put a balloon/sweetie between each layer so everyone has something
Throw a six - Take a T's leaf tray put a slab of choc in the middle and a knife and fork, 2 pairs of gloves and 2 scarves each child rolls the dice in turn, if they throw a six the have to put the gloves and scarf on and can eat as much choc until the next person throws a six, then they have to quickly remove the scarf/gloves before another 6 is throw otherwise they are out, game ends when all are out or all choc is eaten
Keep the cellophane windows out of your post, cut a fish shape out of them get the kids to design their own fish then give each child a piece of paper, line the fish up and get the child to get their fish to the finish line by wafting the paper at the fish.
As for food a BBQ sausages/burgers/veggie options, napkins, value ketchup cheap and kids love it
My kids 8 and 10 love the throw a six game! I think old style games are best as not many kids play them now - pass the parcel, spin the bottle, or if out in a park some kind of treasure hunt with clues0 -
