No court order as this was an agreement between us. I have no option but to involve the CSA as I don't think he should get away with paying 2 months money that we are entitled to! My only other option would be a solicitor which is obviously going to cost money so won't be worth it. If he gets a letter from the CSA he may just pay up anyway.

If the arrangement was just between the two of you, what did you agree would happen in this period?
  • Instead of involving the csa for the money could you not ask him to pay for some items, books etc for uni? Even travel costs or clothing to make up the costs? It's such a small amount of money which could possibly make things difficult for every one involved. I'm sure there is some way he'd contribute to some things your daughter may need

He's already said about me wanting him to pay towards Uni, but it shouldn't be a case of me wanting him to pay, it should be a case of HIM wanting to pay! Daughter has tried to talk to him but she is very annoyed at him. If I don't do anything he will think he has got away it. I may just get a solicitor friend to send a little letter to him. Whether it's 50p or £320 it's her money.

Back to the original question where can I find official information on where it says the date he stops paying as there is conflicting evidence.
  • My understanding was that it was the first Monday in September, as you thought.

It is a private agreement, so the answer is whatever you agreed between you when you agreed the amount etc
For CSA cases it is when the child benefit stops or 19 whichever comes first

And the agreement stated when daughter finished college which in my eyes is end of August as it is not yet known whether she will go back in September (depending on A level results)

My ex husband did the same stopped paying at the end of June last year, it should be when the child benefit ends around 5 Sept. I did not bother taking it further even though I was fuming, as I thought it would cost me as much with a solicitor to get the rest of the maintenance.

Wouldn't the ex have to pay if he lost though?

Probably but I just could not be bothered with dealing with solicitors after the divorce.
