You can't say for sure that this site is a scam. Yes it has an affiliate program but so does everything else, Argos, Tesco's , eBay, Amazon the list is endless. So having an affiliate program does not mean something is actually a scam.
This particular program has a payment processer called clickbank. They handle all sales and refunds. Clickbank only deals with digital products eg site memberships, software etc.
Clickbank displays sales data of any particular product and how many refunds it gets to a potential affiliate so they can judge whether or not to promote it. I do Internet Marketing as my main source of income and could calculate this sites refund rate. I'm currently not at home so can't log into the site I need to to work it out but will edit this post later with the figure.
Clickbank has a no questions refund policy so you don't need to worry from buying anything from them. The affiliate and merchant do not get a say in refunds. That causes around a 5% fraud refund rate from people who purchase with the intention of refunding once they have the goods/info so if this products refund rate is between 5% and 10% then it's probably not that bad.
Some clickbank products I know have up to a 50% refund rate such as sites that claim to help looks up government records on people which most affiliate with any sense stay well clear promoting as they'll just not make any money. It'll be interesting to see what this one comes out at, I'll have a lok later. It may turn out to be a perfectly good site.
When I get home I'll compare several paid survey sites refund rate and display it here so you can see which is best. Like I say though almost every online business has an affiliate program, it's the online version of ads on TV or in newspapers etc.0 -

Hi uktim29. I see you haven't posted for a few weeks, but assume you're still around.
I'd PM you, but it's better to share, hence this post.
I just came across legitonlinejobs.com, as a result of a link from finding proconsumerguides.org. On the page I've linked to, they're saying legitonlinejobs is a 'good little earner', along with profitlance.com.
I'm not great at understanding whois info. but two of the three have similar info.: well, they're both with GoDaddy and have Domains by Proxy as their registrant, but that may just mean they happen to have bought domains from GoDaddy, which I understand is a huge company..? so.. meh..
More telling are the McAfee Sitadvisor* comments for legitonlinejobs and profitlance, basically saying they're scam sites...
Just wanted these websites recorded on MSE for people to find if they're 'digging', so that they're forewarned. Maybe it'll help someone sometime.. (couldn't find them already here by searching..)
Apologies if I misunderstood, but I assumed from you saying
, thenif this products refund rate is between 5% and 10% then it's probably not that bad.
that you were implying it's an okay site..? although tbh I didn't completely understand what you were saying anyway..www.legitonlinejobs.com has a refund rate of 8%
*Looking for an alternative to McAfee S.A. as I believe it to be unreliable: I don't think users can post comments on it, and sites like the above are 'green' when they shouldn't be...
EDIT: Clickbank doesn't look good on McAfee SA either... who to trust.. <boggles>0 -
