Insuring 2 vehicles

I had to purchase an old'ish van during the week for work as I was putting too many miles on my good car. I'm trying to insure the van but it's a bit of a struggle as I'm told I can only use my no claims bonus for one vehicle. However I have since been told this is sometimes not the case. Can anyone advise please?

When we bought our second car hubby transferred his full NCB from the old car to the new one. This left our old car with 0 NCB. We insured them both with ASDA and for the first year only they insured both cars with full NCB but at renewal the old car then went down to 1 yr NCB. So in short most ins co's will match the NCB on one car to another but for first year only.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Sorry I don't understand your reply! You said "this left our old car with 0 ncb" and then you say for the first year they insured both cars with full ncb!
I'm confused:question:0 -
Ok......For the first year only (as a goodwill gesture) ASDA recognised the full NCB we had and used it against both policies, but at renewal they wouldn't do it again and the old car went to 1 yr NCB.
Its like they said "Ok we recognise you have full NCB and as a goodwill gesture we will let you use it against both cars but only for 1 year as you are new customers"
I can't say it any different to that
