New to saving

Hello all :)

Need some advice on the best account to sort my needs please.

I have finally got myself into a situation in which I can begin to look at saving some money. Essentially I will have anywhere between £100 and £400 to save each month. Crucially it could be anywhere in between those numbers so I cannot be tied down by a set amount.

In addition to this I need (would like) the ability to withdraw money without too much notice if I need to.

What do you think would best suit me? Is there any minimum amount I need to start an account?

Thanks for any help :)

If you are working and a tax payer then a cash ISA may be best for you, you can google it to look for the best rates.

Idealy you would need an easy access one.

You can put as much or as little each time as you want to.
You dont pay any tax on the interest either.

Might be best to work out a minimum amount, say £100, and pay this into regular saver account.any excess amount you could then Pay into a cash ISA. You couldn't access the regular saver easily, but that may instil some discipline in saving, but you could get at the cash ISA if needed, all it would mean that it would reduce the total saving for the year, however as current limits are over five grand and it looks as if you would be paying in. No more than £300 per month then that wouldn't be a drawback for your situation
