Has my Yahoo email been hacked?

Hi guys

I mainly use my iPhone or iPad for my emails but occasionally my laptop.

Just fired up the pad and I had 35 emails saying delivery failure together with some auto acknowledgements. I've now changed my password to the account.

However I've looked in my sent items and no email has been sent directly from my account however looking at the addresses the delivery failures came from are in my (very old and out of date) address book.

Has my email account been compromised?

If it has been, changing the password will be the answer. You should be fine now.

In most cases your email address has just been used as sender address for SPAM. It's like somebody would write letters with your address as the sender's address.

It's annoying, but normally nothing to worry about...

There was also some email that if you opened up in Yahoo read the entire contents of your address book and emailed them a link.

Annoying.

So your account wasn't 'hacked' or your password compromised, but it is worth changing the password anyway.
