Car Insurance SmartBox install - Damage?

I went onto Co-OP young drivers policy recently and They installed a blackbox / smartbox into the car.

It was installed today above the aircon on the passenger side (I can feel It's been cable tied to the unit from the glovebox)

However since installation the aircon adjustment doesn't move and also compared to the other aircon on the drivers side the passenger side you can see something silver whereas the others are all black like a cover inside? so looks like something missing.

I've tried phoning the insurer and the installation company and both have hung up on me, Where do I stand? I can't attempt to fix it myself as the box would have to be tampered with / removed :mad:

Make an official complaint in writing to the insurers? So long as it's a recorded method of delivery then you can escalate if they ignore you.

I will draft up a letter of complaint and send it first thing. I will see if I can find an address for the installation company also.

I did manage to get through to the insurers who said He'd make a note of it on file and then he put me on hold through to the installers but never got through to them.

I've just had a bad thought also, When he finished he asked If I could recycle the boxes / rubbish for him which I agreed to and wasn't an issue but when I opened the box to empty the contents there were a bunch of different coloured wires - Possible that these are aircon wires and he cut them to make his job easier? It might not be as I don't know the wiring system of aircon but if so :eek: I've kept them just incase along with the box.

They will be the remnants of the wires on the box. he wont have chopped up your aircon wires.

Top secret unmentionable spy cars dont have aircon units behind the glovebox though.

Air trunking maybe but not the aircon unit. Which will be dotted around the engine bay and under the wings.
